Lesson plans
Three ready-to-run session plans, each on the same template: goal, timing, materials, a timed plan, checks for understanding, and the stumbles to expect. They assume 50 to 75 minute sessions, students at machines, and the prerequisites each plan states. Adapt freely; the timings mark proportions more than minutes.
- First day with Drafter: from nothing to a running, personally modified app. The goal is a felt success and the edit-save-reload loop, not vocabulary.
- Forms and state lab: the name-to-parameter contract and state mutation, taught through a build-up lab with predict-first checkpoints.
- Testing lab: routes as callable functions, one honest assertion per feature, and reading a failure without fear.
The plans lean on the student docs deliberately (each names its pages under Materials), so the habits students practice in class match the resources they will use alone. The big ideas page explains the ordering logic behind all three.
